Back to School Night

Thursday, August 24, 6:00-8:00 pm

All families are welcome to Back-to-School night to drop off school supplies, meet your teachers, sign-up for fall sports, learn about volunteer opportunities, fill out paperwork, pick up some gently-used uniform pieces at the uniform resale, and more!  Visit us in the school gym and library.

New family orientation will be held in the library at 7:00pm.

The First Day of School is Monday, August 28!

Summer's not over yet but we're looking forward to welcoming everyone back to STAA for another terrific school year.  And, we'd especially like to extend a warm welcome to the new students and teachers joining us this year!  Don't worry about your first day.  We're going to have a great year!  Plus, we have a lot of wonderful things planned for everyone this school year so we are sure to enjoy our learning journey along the way.

Parents, here are a few reminders as we all prepare to get back in the swing of things:

What should my child wear?

White, forest green, or approved grey collared shirt with plain navy or khaki pants or shorts (no cargos).  Shirts must be tucked in.  Girls may wear navy or khaki jumpers or skirts.  Shoes must be closed toe and closed heel.

What should we expect when dropping our child at school?

Students will line up according to their grade on the school playground each morning.  When the first bell rings, teachers will lead each grade into their classrooms.  Except for the first day, parents may not enter the building with their children.

Expect the first few mornings of school to be busy and our parking lot to be extra crowded.

What's the car line?

Parents may either park in the small lot behind the school or drop their children off in the car line.  The car line lane is marked and runs the entire length of the school parking lot.  Use the car line if your children are old enough to get out of the car themselves and walk to their lineup.  You may not park in the car line to help your children out of car seats or walk with them to their lineup.  Parents with younger children typically park in the small lot and walk with their children to their lineup.

Keep right as you enter the driveway into the school lot so cars that would like to park can pass on your left side.

What shouldn't I do?

When dropping children off in the morning, use the small parking lot behind the school or the car line.  Please do not park on Norwich Avenue in the front of the building or Austin Street, on the west side of the building, to walk children into school.

No pets are allowed near the student lineup.

What should I do?

Enjoy and have a great day!  School's fun, the teachers are awesome, and we're happy to have everyone back!
